Great music inspires practicing, and few pieces inspire kids to practice more than music from “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Pirates of the Caribbean movies offer several pieces that kids love practicing more than just about any other song. “He’s A Pirate” is one of their favorites, and two arrangements linked to below are surefire winners. The first piano arrangement is very easy. It is written in a way that makes it easy to play, yet still sounds like a piece mom or dad would play. The second arrangement switches the meter from 3/4 to 6/8 (the original meter), though almost everything else remains the same. If your kids are in 8-9 grade, and they haven’t practiced compound meter pieces much (3/8. 6/8, 9/8. 12/8) – or at all, the easy level arrangement would be a great place to start.

About “Pirates of the Caribbean” (He’s a Pirate)
Pirates of the Caribbean began as a Disneyland ride that opened in 1967. It was actually one of the last rides where construction was overseen by Walt Disney himself. Pirates of the Caribbean has since become a movie franchise, a collection of books, video games, and more. The first movie was The Curse of the Black Pearl, released in 2003. Altogether the movies have grossed $4.5 billion worldwide as of 2019, which placed the franchise on the highest-grossing franchises list.
