Starman (Lightyear) – Easy Piano Sheet Music

Lightyear is Disney/Pixar’s latest computer-animated science fiction action-adventure film. The film is a spin-off of the Toy Story film series, telling the back story of young astronaut Buzz Lightyear. The film’s script was co-written and directed by Angus MacLane and produced by Galyn Susman. Chris Evans provides the voice of Buzz, with Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn, James Brolin, and others in supporting roles. Lightyear, after being stranded on a hostile planet with the ship’s commander and crew, tries to find a way back home. During the journey he is confronted by Zurg. The source material for the film began with the direct-to-video, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins. This video led to a pilot and the spin-off television series, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. MacLane, pitched the idea of making a movie about Buzz Lightyear at Pixar. To capture the feel of the movies they grew up with, Lightyear animators wanted to give the film a “cinematic” look. For the musical score they choose American composer, Michael Giacchino. Giacchino is also known for his work on Mission: Impossible, Jurassic World, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Super 8, and the television series, Lost.

While the score for the film was written by Michael Giacchino, David Bowie wrote the song Starman is 1972. It was originally released as a lead single for his fifth studio album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

About The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid (1989) is animated feature film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and Walt Disney Pictures. It is the 28th Disney animated feature film, and is based on a Danish fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. The Little Mermaid tells the story of a young mermaid named Ariel, who wants to become human. She falls in love with a human prince named Eric that she sees on a ship. To become human and be with Eric, she makes a deal with Ursula, the sea witch. The Little Mermaid was released in theaters on Nov 17, 1989 to critical acclaim. The film earned high praise for the animation, music, and characters.

About the Composer of The Little Mermaid Film Score

Alan Menken is an American composer, conductor and pianist, who is now a veteran composer for Disney’s animation studio. The Little Mermaid was one of his first scores for Walt Disney. For the film Menken wrote a Broadway-style score for the film, which led some people to refer to The Little Mermaid as “the film that brought Broadway into cartoons”. One of the film’s most prominent songs, “Part of Your World,” was nearly cut when it seemed to test poorly with children, who became disorderly during the scene. Animator, Glen Keane, encouraged the studio to leave the song in until the film was more developed. A colorized and further developed film shown for the second test was a hit with kids and remained in the film.

About “Rainbow Connection”

“Rainbow Connection” from the 1979 movie ”The Muppet Movie”, was written by pop singer and lyricist, Paul Williams, with Kenneth Ascher. In the movie the song is performed by Kermit the Frog, which is voiced by the Muppet’s founder and puppeteer, Jim Henson. “Rainbow Connection” reached No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November of that year, and remained on the Top 40 chart for 7 weeks. The song garnered Williams and Ascher an Academy Award nomination at the 52nd Academy Awards for Best Original Song. In 2021 the Library of Congress deemed “Rainbow Connection” aesthetically significant, and chose to preserve in the National Recording Registry.

About “The Muppet Movie”

The Muppet Movie (1979) is a musical road comedy that was produced by Jim Henson. It is the first of several films featuring the Muppets. The film was produced during the third season of The Muppet Show television production, and tells how the Muppets united. The film opens with Kermit the Frog embarking on a cross-country trip to Hollywood. He encounters other Muppets along the way who share the same dream of finding success in show business. The villain in this story is Doc Hopper, an evil restaurateur that wants to employ Kermit to promote his frog legs business.

He’s a Pirate | Two Piano Sheet Music Arrangements

Great music inspires practicing, and few pieces inspire kids to practice more than music from “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

Pirates of the Caribbean movies offer several pieces that kids love practicing more than just about any other song. “He’s A Pirate” is one of their favorites, and two arrangements linked to below are surefire winners. The first piano arrangement is very easy. It is written in a way that makes it easy to play, yet still sounds like a piece mom or dad would play. The second arrangement switches the meter from 3/4 to 6/8 (the original meter), though almost everything else remains the same. If your kids are in 8-9 grade, and they haven’t practiced compound meter pieces much (3/8. 6/8, 9/8. 12/8) – or at all, the easy level arrangement would be a great place to start.

About “Pirates of the Caribbean” (He’s a Pirate)

Pirates of the Caribbean began as a Disneyland ride that opened in 1967. It was actually one of the last rides where construction was overseen by Walt Disney himself. Cruella DeVil from 101 Dalmations | Easy Piano Sheet Music

Cruella de Vil is a fictional character created by British author Dodie Smith for her novel, The Hundred and One Dalmatians (1956). This pampered and glamorous London heiress appears on screen first in the 17th Walt Disney Productions animated feature film, 101 Dalmatians (1961). Several spin-off have followed this popular Disney animated film, including live action remakes featuring Glenn Close and Emma Stone.

American composer and lyricist, Mel Leven (1914–2007), who enjoyed a long association with the Walt Disney Company., composed Cruella DeVil. It is his most famous song. He claims to have written it in homage to “Ba-Lue Bolivar Ba-Lues-Are,” by jazz pianist and composer, Thelonious Monk.

I Wan’na Be Like You | Easy Jazz Piano Sheet Music

The Jungle Book is a 1967 Walt Disney Production  featuring the songs of the Richard and Robert Sherman and Terry Gilkyson. It was Disney’s 19th animated film, and is based on Rudyard Kipling’s 1894 book, The Jungle Book. It was the last animated feature to be produced by Walt Disney, who died during the production of the film. The story follows Mowgli, a child raised in the jungle by wolves, as his friends Bagheera (panther) and Baloo (bear) encourage him to get out of the jungle before Shere Khan arrives. The Jungle Book was released to positive praise, with acclaim for the soundtrack which included five songs by the Sherman Brothers and one by Gilkyson. The film was Disney’s second-highest-grossing animated film in the US and Canada. It was also successful in Germany, becoming the highest-grossing film by number of admissions.
