Want to make this year’s Christmas recital the most memorable yet. Give one of these ideas a try. They are sure to thrill your students and parents.
1) Invite a Special Guest
Invite Santa to attend your recital to take pictures with your students and pass out candy. In my area there’s a business called Santa Claus and Company. I booked Santa for my mom’s tea party and she loved it! The service is affordable and easy to arrange, and you’ll be providing an unforgettable moment for your students.
2) Get Parents Involved
Do you have a parent or two that plays an instrument? Ask them to play a duet with their child. It’s always great fun, and a great way to help parents create memorable moments with their kids.
3) Invite Guest Musicians
Invite a bass player and drummer to play along with a few of your piano students. Ask students if they’d be interested and pick the pieces. Find your guest artists and ask them to make a recording for your students to work with, or make a digital recoding with Finale or Band in a Box. On the morning of the recital you can ask these student to show up early for a run through. Playing live with pro players is sure to add an extra thrill to their day.
